We booked a two-bedroom family apartment through Crystal Ski. It was very clean and came with the essentials, including towels, toilet paper, kitchen roll, dishcloths, tea towels, and soap. The layout had a bunk room, a double bedroom, a small shower and wet room with a sauna, plus a living and kitchen area. The sofa also turns into a bed, but six people would find the apartment very, very cramped. Three or four is plenty. The setting is excellent for the gondola to the ski area, which is just across the road. Bars and restaurants are only steps away, and there's a small shop around the corner. The town is small enough that other amenities are walkable too. The downside was the noise. Our room faced Zone, a karaoke bar open until 4am, and for the first two nights groups left with portable speakers blaring. We assumed the first night might be a one-off, but after it happened again the next night, we asked reception to move us somewhere quieter. At first they said the hotel was full, then said there was one room left on the second floor, also facing the venue. Yet the hotel's own website showed at least 14 rooms available for the rest of our stay. When we raised it through Crystal Ski, the explanation changed from no space to an offer to move for €150. I understand that outside noise is partly beyond the hotel's control, but it ruined our stay and they could have handled the situation responsibly. They knew it was a problem and seemed to have other rooms available, but instead of trying to reduce the disruption, they appeared to mislead us and charge extra for a good night's sleep. That's not acceptable. It's a shame, because otherwise we would have returned. The lack of care for guests has put us off. Booking through Crystal Ski seems to have worked against us. Reading between the lines, I wouldn't be surprised if Crystal negotiated the room rates so hard that Ski-Inn doesn't really care about its guests and just wants to fill rooms.

The rooms were nice, and breakfast was perfectly okay, even if it wasn’t anything fancy. The location is the big plus: bars, restaurants, shops, ski rental, and the gondola are all within 100 meters, with a large parking garage right below the building. Just be aware that slope-side rooms can pick up loud music from a nearby bar late into the night, so bring earplugs.

The snow was fantastic, and we had a great time on the winter husky and reindeer excursion. It’s an expensive resort for eating and drinking, though that seems pretty typical for ski destinations. Our two-bedroom apartment was spotless, roomy, and just right for our family, and the hotel’s location and views were lovely. We’d booked breakfast and dinner as part of our package. Breakfast was adequate, but the same every day. Dinner was at the Piste restaurant, with a very limited choice: one meat or fish option, potatoes, mixed vegetables, salad, and one dessert. The food was fine, but picky eaters might struggle, and drinks were limited to water, tea, or coffee. I’m glad we visited. Just take plenty of cash.

We got a larger room for a fair price, and it made a difference. There were five of us, but the hot water never ran out. The place had a full kitchen, two bathrooms, a sauna, a hot tub, and a balcony. There’s a restaurant downstairs, everything is close by, and getting in with the keypad was easy. The staff were friendly, and we had everything we wanted. I’d rate the area four or five stars compared with many places I’ve visited.

Ask for a room toward the front, away from the bar at the back, which stays open until 5am. We were kept awake for four nights, then went to reception at 9am and eventually got moved. At first they said only a jacuzzi room was available and that we’d have to pay for the move. I said I absolutely wasn’t paying. Later that afternoon I got a text saying another room was ready, without a jacuzzi. The hotel itself was nice and clean.
