The spa became our way to wind down each evening. It has a jacuzzi, two saunas, a steam room, and plunge pools. We also had several great excursions arranged during our stay, including snowmobiling, ice fishing, and husky sledding. My wife and I spent five nights at Gáldu for our honeymoon, and the whole visit was incredible. From bed, we could see the snowy forest and even the northern lights. The hotel stayed spotless, thanks to the attentive cleaning staff and nightly turndown service. The restaurant team were so welcoming, and the chef made us three lovely meals a day. A special thanks to the owners, Jermu and Nora, who were friendly and accommodating and clearly wanted us to have a wonderful time in Lapland. They even took us to Kaunispää fell for traditional Finnish donuts and coffee. Staying at Gáldu was an amazing experience, and you won’t regret it.

Nora and Jermu are a lovely couple running this brand new hotel. It’s quiet, luxurious, and perfectly located, with great options for activities like Northern Lights Hunting and visits to Reindeer Farm. The rooms have wonderful views, the spa exceeded expectations, and the food was delicious. Hats off to the chef. Definitely recommended!

The owner was super chill, but also helpful, accommodating, and resourceful. He checked in with us a few times, shared advice on where to go, and tried to make things easier. When something happened that could easily have spoiled our day, he really rolled up his sleeves and went far beyond what we expected to help. His dog was emotional support for us, too. The breakfast was the best I had during our 18-night northern Europe trip. You can order a fresh hot dish, like an omelette or pancake, from the kitchen, along with coffee, and the rest of the spread also felt thoughtfully put together. The facilities were just as impressive: three pools including a jacuzzi, three saunas looking out onto the trees, and lovely woody scents. They provide everything you need, which wasn’t always the case elsewhere, and I especially liked the bathrobes. We stayed two nights and loved the hospitality, facilities, and breakfast. Everything felt top-notch, carefully considered, and personal. This was my last stop in northern Europe, and a great way to end the trip, with the beauty of saariselka and such warm hospitality. 200% recommend this luxury accommodation, easily one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at around the world. Thank you to the whole team! 🥹

The food was fantastic and a very high standard, with Finnish touches. Breakfast had a good range of meats, fish, fresh fruit, yogurt, breads, and cakes, plus a choice of omelette or pancakes. Dinner was nicely presented and very good. The hotel’s outdoor spa is picture perfect, with two saunas, a steam room, swimming pool, cold plunge pool, jacuzzi, and a bar room with amazing views. The setting itself is perfect, and the rooms have amazing views too. They’re full of thoughtful extras like chocolates, body scrubs, creams, and toiletries. The staff were welcoming from arrival, and room service checked every day that we had what we needed. We were greeted with champagne, and nothing felt like too much trouble. From our first booking, we dealt directly with the owners, who were extremely helpful. They arranged our excursions, transfers, and restaurant meals, so the break was hassle-free. The hotel feels like a home away from home. For a new place, there’s nothing I think needs changing right now. It was worth every penny, and I’ll definitely return. I highly recommend a stay, you won’t be disappointed unless you’re hard to please.

The Finnish breakfast buffet, spa, and room views were all lovely, and there were activities right around the corner. We especially enjoyed the interior spaces, including the lobby and the spa lounge. We also went out on the walking and cross-country ski trails and spotted four reindeer just outside the property. We stayed for two nights, and on the second evening I saw the northern lights for the first time while dining at the hotel. One of the most magical hotel stays I’ve had.
