We found the warm hut at Rumankuru much more welcoming. The so-called "Firehouse" marked on the signs was about 50m behind the house, hidden in the snowy forest. We went there, but it was freezing and clearly hadn't been used for days. We didn't wait for a fire to get going and continued to Rumankuru, where the hut was warm and there were lovely embers in the fire nest. At "Maja," the seller was quite unfriendly, and the place didn't seem suited to traditional Mutomaa skiers. There was no hot meal option, though the ham pies could have been warmed in the microwave. The coffee was quite good at 3.5€, and a glass of water cost 2.5€. The sign outside was unclear too. You aren't allowed to eat your own food in the warm hut.
