Matilda Villas

The terrace was a lovely place to relax, and the sauna was great. We had three quiet days away from the city rush. Matilda Villas made for a really comfortable and pleasant stay.

Mathildedal is just a kilometre away, with a cozy feel and some great restaurants. You can walk there or use the bikes at the resort. There’s also a golf course, tennis court, and plenty of other services nearby, while Teijo National Park is right next door for hiking and enjoying nature. We spent a couple of days at Matilda Villas and were impressed by how spacious and well-equipped the cottages are. Having a private sauna was a real highlight after being outdoors. The sea views are lovely, and the sunsets really stir something in you. Staff were friendly, efficient, and always ready to help. It’s a fantastic place for a long weekend or a whole week. Highly recommended.

The forest sounds and the quiet make staying here feel almost magical. I love everything about it, from the location and atmosphere to the service and cleanliness. Highly recommended.

The beach was beautiful, but the hostility from the staff spoiled what should have been a relaxing weekend in Mathildedal. Our group of five women, aged 28-38, were repeatedly called “girls” in a mean-spirited way, accused of partying in the neighboring cottage, and treated with an unfriendly attitude for no reason. We had one friend visit for a night. He didn’t get sheets or a towel, but that became a huge issue. I’ve never stayed at a cottage or hotel where guests weren’t allowed. The cottages are basic, so don’t be fooled by the VIP label. The furniture is all Ikea’s cheapest quality, some pillows were dirty, the beds too soft, and Christmas decorations were still up in August. The cottage facilities themselves were less disappointing than the customer service, which was one of the worst experiences I’ve had anywhere. We heard in the village that other customers had had strange experiences before, too. The owner’s replies to reviews also reflect the hostility. Whatever the price, paying customers shouldn’t be treated this way. Next time I’ll gladly pay more to enjoy a peaceful holiday. Luckily, there are other places to stay in the village.
