Vuohensaari Camping

This little island is a beautiful spot for a short stay with family or friends, with lots to do all in one place: fishing, trails, swimming, nature views, picnics, a kids’ playground, BBQ area, parking, a cafe, a concert venue, mini golf, and more.

The camping area is lovely, and the nature trail connected to it is beautiful too. I just wish the trail had clearer markers, especially on that route. There are lots of well trodden paths that aren’t part of the main trail, and the main one rarely has the colored marks you’d expect to help you follow it. I’ve done quite a few trails in Finland, and this is the first time I’ve come across that.

The woman at the cafe and reception was super lovely. We’d expected the cabin we booked to be private, but it turned out to be a room in a shared cabin, which was fine too. The place was full, yet we couldn’t hear the neighbors at all, so the rooms were really soundproof. There was no toilet in the cabin, but portable ones had been placed nearby. The shared toilets by reception were clean, though a bit of a walk away.

It was quiet when I visited. The location is excellent, and I stayed one night in a tent with my bicycle on EuroVelo10. One person, €19. There’s a new toilet, shower, campers’ kitchen, and laundry room, though the laundry wasn’t open? The kitchen has a few pans, crockery, and cutlery, but could really use a kettle.
