The breakfast was quite good, which was the one positive. The hotel is near the center, but the rooms are old. Seagulls outside are noisy, and with the window open they might take your things out of the room.

Ageless Hugo’s gig is great. It’s lovely when there’s something happening! I’ve also often asked for rescue food, and everything has earned lots of compliments at home.

Breakfast helped a little, which was a plus. But the room felt really dreary and untidy. The walls and other surfaces were stained and worn, the skirting boards were missing, and from the moment I walked in it seemed dirty and dusty. Even the TV didn’t work. The hotel rooms need a major renovation before I’d dare to do business here again.

What a mess. There was long-term water damage along the edge of the window. When I got to the room, I was allowed to air it out for a couple of hours, but after breakfast the smell was really musty.

I asked for a quiet room and the option of using a sauna late on Saturday evening. They arranged both. It’s always worth asking.
