The cottage was cozy, just as it looked in the photos, and despite being a little remote, it had everything we needed to be comfortable. We spent a week here with our dog, surrounded by incredible beauty and calm. When we arrived, an elk cow and her calf greeted us. About as Finnish an experience as you could ask for! The lady renting the cottages was lovely to communicate with. We're already talking about coming back one day.

We came back for a second visit to this beautiful natural setting, but ended up disappointed again. On our first trip, someone stole the hostess's gift, a bottle of dry red wine, apparently to deal with a hangover. This time, the TV was faulty, and six months hadn't been enough to get it working. We had been looking forward to fishing, but were given a single-person keelboat that isn't made for fishing. It would be dangerous for someone without experience to use.

If you want peace and some time alone, this is a great place. The vacation home is right by the lake, surrounded by woods, and has a sauna on the beach as well as another inside the house. Fishing is excellent here, too. Ms. Blau is very pleasant and speaks German, so you don't need to know Finnish. I've stayed three times already, and I'll definitely come back.

Great place. The cottage was spacious and in good shape, and the bed was very comfortable.
