Haapala B&B

We dropped in on a whim with my family, and the food and drinks were incredible. One of my family members said it was the best beef brisket he’d had in a long time. The venue is fantastic, and the beers are excellent too. We’ll definitely come back. Thank you!

The renovated barn is a beautiful space, with old logs and modern furniture. We arrived to eat quite late, almost 9pm, after what seemed like a busy day. It was about +27 C outside, and the waitress greeted us in a relaxed, polite way. Some groups were still there, and a few tables hadn’t been cleaned. We ordered a beef burger and a vegetarian one. I’m not sure there’s much for vegans. The large buns had sold out, so we each got two small ones, and the bun itself was perfect. The veggie burger fillings weren’t as impressive, but the fries were awesome. My pavlova with rhubarb and cream was so good. There were a few minor shortages, probably because the place is new, but otherwise it was lovely. The building has been renovated beautifully and with good taste. I’d definitely bring foreign guests here. A tip, they have their own brewery.

The tasting menu was excellent, the food and beer pairings worked really well, and the fries were hard to beat. I still can’t quite get over having porter with a brownie. The vegetarian dishes were very good, though not perfect. It’s a lovely rustic old building with a restaurant, brewery and a little gift store. Service was super polite, and the waitress seemed to know a lot about the beer they sell.

We stayed at the B&B for three nights over a weekend and arrived just in time to try their lovely beer and burgers in the restaurant. The place was amazing to stay in, an interesting old building with a lovely garden and fields around it. We spent a day hiking in the nearby forest, then tried the brunch on Sunday. The range and quality of the food were impressive. Everyone I talked to was really friendly and shared lots about the buildings’ history and what they make there. We’re already planning another visit in the Autumn.
