After a long, beautiful hike that morning, we stopped here for a quick lunch while driving through, and left feeling recharged. The food was excellent, and the lake views from the outdoor deck were stunning and peaceful. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the prices were more than fair. A must!

The lake feels magical, and we got to see the northern lights in a way I’d never experienced before. I’d seen them before, but never so bright and clear. It’s a quiet, clean, friendly place where you can relax and find plenty to do. Nordic magic.

Hossa is a great location for this place, and the saunas are lovely with a well-planned schedule. There’s also a beachside fireplace for barbecues, a pool table and drinks at the bar in the info building, plus a gas station across the road and a small grocery store at the neighboring campsite. The cottage was the weak point for us at 95€/night with no extra services. Cabin 3 had mosquito screens on only one of its four windows, so fresh air meant mosquitoes too. Other cottages seemed to have more screens, and it’d be good if they were equipped equally, especially since cabins get hot in summer and need airflow. The indoor air in ours was a bit funky, and the bathroom’s plastic vinyl floor had open seams that look like they could lead to moisture damage. The beachside cottages also have an obstructed view because of the overgrown bushes and trees. Please cut them back. The ecolodge or hotel rooms were around 130€/night, but didn’t have fridges, which was a problem since we’d brought lots of food. English-only service might also be an issue for some. The general welcome and service atmosphere were good, though, and with a few small fixes this could be a five-out-of-five place.

The rooms felt new and clean, and breakfast was simple but tasty. Our stay was really relaxing, and the price covered sauna access from 4 pm to 11 pm. After a sauna, you can cool off with a swim in the lake.

The Ecology rooms have a nice view and are clean and cozy, but there’s no air conditioning. You can use either of the two saunas in the evening. There’s a little shop and a restaurant nearby, though the shop is nearly empty and the restaurant has limited hours, so come prepared if you’re staying a couple of nights. Good value for the price.
