We left and cut our losses. I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone, and one star feels too generous. The owner said the cleaners had probably missed something, but it looked more like nothing had been cleaned at all. There was mold in the bathroom and kitchen, stains on the sofa and beds, and crusted food on the stovetop and in the oven. I’ve never seen a mess that disgusting. There was even an exposed, tangled extension cord in the shower. Being old is one thing, but that doesn’t excuse the lack of cleanliness.
