Hotelli Ville

The room was spacious and mostly quiet despite the hotel being on a big street. I was kindly upgraded to a twin. It’s about a 15 minute walk or a 7 minute bus ride to the city center, and there’s a bus stop and supermarket right next door. Enter through the backyard. A modern, well designed vegetarian restaurant serving local dishes is on the ground floor of the same building, but neither it nor the hotel offers breakfast, so you’ll have to head into the center for that. This is a self service hotel with no staff on site. Your door code arrives by text around noon on arrival day, and you can enter from 15:00. The bathroom had been refurbished, while the rest of the furniture seemed to date from the 90s. Everything was clean and tidy, the mattresses were on the soft side, and the WiFi speed was average. Strong ventilation, maybe AC, ran constantly and I couldn’t control it. For the roughly 70€ per night I paid, it was good value. There was an issue with the booking system at the time, but the staff responded kindly and everything went smoothly.

Everything worked smoothly at check-in and check-out, and the area was nice. The room had what we needed to make a simple meal, with a store across the street that’s open on Sundays. We liked the style, comfortable beds, and how clean and quiet it was over the weekend. The bathroom was clean and functional, too. Great value for money, we recommend the place.

No reception, but everything worked. The room was very clean and quiet, with blackout curtains and a small kitchen area. It had a shelf with a microwave, teapot, coffee machine, forks, spoons, cups, dishwashing liquid, and a small fridge. There’s a Sale store next door for food, coffee, and milk, and a restaurant in the yard downstairs that looks cozy. The price for what you get is amazing.

I was surprised by the quality for such an affordable place. I stayed over the weekend for a sports camp, and the room had tableware, a kettle, and a microwave. I bought two days’ worth of food from the store across the street and kept it in the little fridge in the corner, all for about the cost of one junk food meal. The doors all use pin codes, which is handy. I was rushing at checkout and left my branded google 15W charger in the room. They sent it to Helsinki for me, which was fantastic.
