Lillan Hotel Café Butik

A lovely little Nordic boutique hotel, with care put into the details. We slept really well and had a wonderful breakfast. Kiitos!

We found a place for our car in the small car park, and there's also free street parking beside the hotel. Lillan Hotel is in a quiet residential area, with tasteful decor that mixes modern colours and quality traditional furniture. Our room had WiFi and a smart TV, so we watched some Netflix in the evening. There were a few letdowns. The shower had no holder for the head, so we had to sit in the tub and hold it in one hand while washing with the other. The room was dusty, the washed and ironed sheets had a few stains, the bed sagged, and the fridge was noisy. Check-in came with very little information, and at breakfast around 9:10 there wasn't much left. I suspect the number of guests was the reason, but it was a shame that little was left for other guests: no porridge, just a few pieces of fruit and some cold meat and cheese. Staff brought out extra croissants and bread, but other guests quickly took them. Coffee was topped up often, piping hot and tasty. It's a lovely, relaxing hotel that has clearly had a lot spent on recent renovations. It just didn't quite match what the website and other reviews led us to expect.

We were really pleased with our stay, which exceeded what we expected. The hotel is in a gorgeous neighborhood a little outside the city, and it was lovely to stay there. Our room was comfortable and nicely decorated, the breakfast was delicious, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. My partner is vegan, and they went all out to accommodate that.

Of all the places we stayed during our Finland vacation, this was absolutely the best. The room had everything right: the equipment, size and cozy feel, plus a bathroom with a bathtub.
