Mango Hotel

The affordable price and very polite staff were the high points of our New Year’s Eve stay. The building’s heavy metal doors everywhere gave it a fortress-like feel, though the decor really needs an urgent refresh and I found it awful. It’s far from the center, and the continental breakfast selection was limited. Still, the overall stay was positive.

I felt welcome from the start, and the service was very friendly. My room was cold, but reception lent me a space heater. The WiFi was quick and dependable, and I liked having a fridge instead of a minibar so I could keep my own food there. I was travelling alone, but there were enough towels for two people, despite someone mentioning a shortage. The room and bathroom were spotless. The design wasn’t really my taste, though it had more character than the usual all-white hotel room. The bathroom looked modern, but the shower heads and soap dispensers could do with an update. The room was surprisingly good for such a low price, as was the service. Breakfast let me down a bit: they only had boiled eggs, no scrambled ones. I was also uneasy about security since every door used the same code and there weren’t room keys. Individual room codes, alongside a shared code for the main doors, would make more sense. Even with that, I had a good stay and plan to come back.

During a busy summer of family travel, this was the best hotel stay we had. From our first call right through checkout, Mango hotel gave us high-quality service. Everything was great, it was very clean, the staff had an excellent attitude, and the place felt relaxed and family-friendly. Other hotels had blamed Covid-19 for poor service, but that wasn’t our experience here.

The beds were really comfortable, and the staff were friendly and flexible. The rooms and the hotel’s general condition felt a little rough, including the furniture, but the price was fair for what you get. All in all, it was a good hotel.
