Hotel Olof

We loved the stylish interior and central location at Hotel Olof in Tornio, Finland, and the staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was warm and cozy in the evenings, and we enjoyed the varied breakfasts with aromatic coffee as well as peaceful walks along the riverfront. Everything felt thoughtfully arranged, and we left with lovely memories and a strong wish to return. Best regards from Norway🇳🇴

The room had a kitchenette, comfortable beds, and a nice view toward the river. It was clean, too, and the hotel is very well located in Tornio. A bit pricey, but worth it. Thanks to the reception staff on both shifts, all the ladies were warm, helpful, easy to talk to, and always ready with advice.

The room looked lovely at first, with nice decor, plenty of space, and a kitchen area, but the stay was very disappointing. There was a half-empty glass of water on the counter, apparently from the bathroom. The fridge shelves, cupboard glasses, and cutlery were dirty, and nothing was provided for washing them. The bed linen was stained, and I could only hope it wasn't dirty. There were two colours of hair and white splatters on the bathroom door, water marks all over the shower, and makeup on the electrical outlet cover. The road beside the place was surprisingly busy, with loud traffic and people late into the night. Check-in was frustrating too: the person working there ignored me for several minutes before acknowledging me, then gave the wrong breakfast closing time, saying 11 when it actually ended at 10. We arrived just after 10 and were lucky that the woman starting to clear up let us get some food. We would have missed breakfast if we'd been any later. That second woman is why the service gets three stars instead of two.

The breakfast was good, with quite a few vegetarian buffet choices, though vegans had only salad and bread, which could be improved. The very cute coffee cups were a nice morning touch, and check-out was easy. We arrived late and the staff were accommodating, even taking us to our room, with clear information about breakfast, check-out, and local transport. The room was lovely, with a comfortable bed, warm shower, and fancy-feeling Rituals bathroom products. It was reasonably priced and just right for our stopover. I can't say anything about the sauna because it was closed when we arrived and we left too early to use it.
