The history was interesting, the staff were wonderful, and I slept comfortably. It’s in a great spot for visiting Turku Castle, and I liked breakfast too. They let me leave my huge backpack in a storage locker. Loved it!

The room’s feel makes it easy to imagine being a sailor, which suits the ship’s character. It was a memorable stay on a renowned ship, with friendly, helpful staff and a tasty breakfast.

The rooms were okay, but I couldn’t book one cabin for three people, so I had to take two. One cabin actually had three beds, yet for some reason we couldn’t cancel the second one. There was some noise at night, probably drunk guests rummaging around and slamming doors and walls.

The decor is cool and retro, the sauna small and impressive, and the location couldn’t be better. Staff were lovely and helpful. Standard and breakfast were okay. The air conditioning in room 512 was broken and gave me allergies, but other than that, please go and visit SS Bore!!!! AMAZING.

Breakfast had lots of vegan options, though you might need to ask for them. A land-based hotel could be newer and nicer, but I love the feel of SS Bore.
