Hotel Aquarius

This place seems popular with locals. The Finnish buffet is good value, with local favorites like salads, fish, eggs, and meatballs, followed by desserts and coffee. Service was friendly, and they were quick to clear plates and find a teaspoon for dessert. Enjoy!

The food choices are reasonable for the price, and the seasonal fruit smoothies are especially good. Breakfast is included, with a good selection and decent coffee. The conference facilities are nice too, with a large auditorium, comfortable seats, and good acoustics. I'd stay here again.

The hotel's position by the water makes it seem like it should be a wonderful place, but the location is the only part that really is. The building feels old in many places, especially the basement rooms, which were uncomfortable. The showers were moldy, and my bed wasn't clean, with hairs and what looked like bits of bread on it. We asked to move rooms and were given another without much discussion, which was appreciated. The restaurant and bar service seemed to depend on the day and shift. At breakfast, every table was left covered with dirty dishes from guests who had already left, so we had to clear a spot ourselves. The hotel needs a serious update throughout, not just repairs to the holes in the red carpet at the entrance. I can't recommend it.

The rooms were very good, renovated and clean, and breakfast was normal and good. I also loved the sauna, open from 5pm to 8pm. The rest was a letdown. Maybe we were unlucky, but on Sunday, arriving late, our group of eight had to call the on-duty reception even though we had booked ahead. We ordered pizza at the restaurant and waited over two hours. The waiters seemed to ignore us, and when it finally came, it was terrible. We were still charged full price.
