The breakfast at Hotel Waltikka was superb, and my room had a great view of the lake. I was traveling from Helsinki to Tampere for work and chose to stay the night here. It’s a small city, but the hotel is in an amazing spot right by both the lake and the city. Highly recommended!

We had to move rooms in the middle of the night because ours was near a gig. Even so, we slept well at the hotel. It’s a great place with clean rooms.

It’s a nice little hotel in a prime spot, an easy walk from the city center. The room was clean but felt a bit dated, with a style that might have been fashionable in the 90s. For the room price, that’s why I’m holding back the fifth star.

There’s a lovely lake view from this spot near the town center, with outdoor activities and a stage for lavatanssi. You can also take a bus from Tampere, and the stop is less than a kilometer from the hotel. The rooms have large balconies, but there’s no air conditioning or modern ventilation. The place really needs renovation, though it has a nostalgic 80s or 90s feel that I kind of love. I’d add insect screens, because you can’t leave the balcony door open without them.
