Hotel Vágar

We ate both dinner and breakfast at the restaurant, and even without a reservation they found us a table. The fresh fish soup was my favorite at dinner, and the pizzas looked great as they went by to other tables. Breakfast was a buffet with lots of choices, including very good cured salmon and sausages. Our room was clean, with big windows looking out at the landscape. The staff were friendly, and the lobby and restaurant were nicely decorated and clean. I could use my AMEX for dinner, but not for the room. We visited in early May 2025, booked our stay through the hotel website months ahead, and check-in went smoothly. There was plenty of parking, and the hotel is close to both the airport and rental car facility. Great hotel and restaurant, I’d recommend it and stay again.

The restaurant served good food, and the staff were friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and the airport is right nearby.

They said they had no POS terminal and asked to take my card and enter it into their system. I found that really shady. Horrible hotel, stay away.

The Hotel Vagar looks quite plain outside, but the inside is lovely. I stayed several days at the beginning and end of my hiking trip to the Faroe Islands. Monika, Thea and Anina were especially kind: my outbound flight was cancelled three days running, and they managed to find me a room each time. I’d definitely stay there again, and hope I get the chance.
