Hotel Tórshavn

The staff were super friendly and did their best, and the location is very central. But the hotel felt run down and dirty. My room was tiny and unclean, and needed a lot more than a fresh coat of paint. There’s a cool mural outside, and the bartender made a mean Irish, though bring your own cream if you don’t want it from a spray can.

The room was small, with limited amenities, and the soundproofing seemed questionable. I had a single room with an 80x120cm bed, which was a bit of a struggle to sleep on comfortably. Water also didn’t drain well in the bathroom, so I had to wipe it toward the drain myself. Breakfast was basic but tasty. The staff were friendly, responsive, and helpful. There’s no hotel parking, but a public lot with plenty of spaces is a two minute walk away. The location is the best part, with most important places about a two minute walk from the hotel.

Breakfast had plenty of options, and my room was clean with enough space. It was furnished in an unusual way, with no bedhead, the bed parallel to the wall, and a side table at one end. We got good service and information when the manager was there, but I didn’t see reception staff after check-in. The hotel is well placed, a short walk from the harbour and centre.

Hotel Tórshavn keeps things simple, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good too. The location is ideal if you’re getting around by public transport, close to both the port and the bus and ferry terminal.
