The owner speaks only a little English, but she was helpful and directed us to somewhere to eat on a Sunday evening, when most restaurants were closed. Our car was parked securely behind the house, close to our room. We stayed one night while travelling through France and found everything pleasant, clean, and comfortable. The bedroom and bathroom came with a living room and small bar area, including a fridge, microwave, and hot drink facilities. We ordered breakfast the night before; it arrived fresh and plentiful on a trolley just outside the room by the door. We’d stay again if we needed to.

The ownership has changed since last September, but this was still a great stopover at le loft. The big garden gave our two english pointers room to exercise, and the continental breakfast set us up for the long drive to the Dordogne. It’s an hour from Calais, and we’ll stay there again on our return.

The room is simple, but comfortable and really clean, and the breakfast was enough for us: tea, coffee, croissants, bread, cheese, yoghurt, and fruit. The owner was very friendly, and even with my basic French we managed to communicate. Le Loft works well for an overnight stop on the way through France or coming back. We’ve stayed in hotels before where taking dogs up steps or through reception was a hassle; here there’s a large garden where they can get some exercise. AAAAAA11111111
