We had a comfortable night in these simple, tidy rooms, and the staff were pleasant. It’s straightforward, good value accommodation for an overnight stop. The owners had a good quality travel cot and a high chair ready for our 14 month old daughter at breakfast. The only criticism is that the bathrooms could use a thorough clean. There was some mildew, though nothing terrible.

The beds are getting old, and the pillows feel like concrete blocks.

The rooms were fine and breakfast was good. We were cycling, and they took secure care of our bikes. The manager was very friendly and helpful, and spoke English. Would recommend.

When I politely asked to see the room, the owner refused and essentially asked me to leave. He was within his rights, but I do wonder why someone in the service business wouldn’t want guests to feel welcome. Most hoteliers show their rooms with pride, so I wondered what he was concerned about and whether he had anything to be proud of in the hotel. The lady at the tourist office was extremely embarrassed and apologetic, and helped me find somewhere else to stay. If you want a true impression of the place, read the one-star reviews.

The checkout was the defining part of my stay. I’d paid in advance, but the owner insisted I hadn’t. He snapped, seemed enraged, and took the payment again without my permission. Now I have to pursue a refund for the duplicate charge through my credit card company. Maybe he was having a bad day, but guests shouldn’t have to take the brunt of it. Be careful, and definitely don’t pay in advance. He gets very angry!
