I was only told when I went to pay that they don’t accept cards. The woman behind the bar wasn’t pleasant and couldn’t communicate well. She then pointed out a small notice in French on the entrance door. If you have a garden where people can sit without coming inside, how are they supposed to know you don’t take cards? Avoid. EDIT: I did pay for the service. A gentleman behind me paid for my espresso right in front of me. Poor service is one thing, personal issues are another.

The room was too dim for my liking, and the river noise outside sometimes got in the way of relaxing and sleeping. My room faced the back of the hotel, though the view of the surroundings was beautiful. The hotel has charm and a pleasant feel, and breakfast was a highlight: a varied, tasty spread that set me up well for the day. It’s good value for money, especially given the prime location and easy access to nearby attractions. I came in with high expectations from the reviews, and my stay didn’t quite match all that praise, though it was still a positive experience. Preferences differ, of course. It’s a solid, charming hotel I’d recommend to travelers looking for a good location. The lighting and sound insulation could be better, but breakfast and the value count for a lot.

A thunderstorm caught me on a motorbike tour, so camping wasn’t an option. The people were really friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and fine for sleeping, and the restaurant was good. What more do you need? Recommended!
