Auberge du Bel Air

The calm, natural setting and the genuinely warm welcome stood out to me, which feels rare these days. Lunch was excellent, all homemade with quality ingredients and vegetables from the garden. I highly recommend this inn.

That little crème brûlée was just right to get me through the afternoon at work. Before it, I had a chef-made terrine with salad, then homemade spaetzle with cream and breaded chicken. Everything was really good, and the dish of the day was delicious.

The foie gras was very good, which was a bright spot in such a lovely place. The Alsatian salad was mostly lettuce, with hardly any Gruyère and meat sausage instead of cervelas, and no proper vinaigrette. The bibeleskäs had no taste and was missing garlic and chives. Its potato pancakes seemed straight from the freezer, soft and flavorless. The restaurant is part of the Maîtres Restaurateurs charter and serves homemade dishes.

I only ate at the restaurant. The surroundings are pleasant and relaxing, and the welcoming staff were friendly. The food was very good, with a nice choice and good quality.
