We had a large room, and the à la carte food in the restaurant was pleasant. Hotel Les Cigognes is a sensible place to stay while walking the GR5 if you're using hotels, with what you'd expect from a 3-star hotel. I was sorry we didn't get a room on the garden side, but I should have asked before we arrived. The owners, like those at many hotels, say it's very quiet at night because there's little traffic. With the window open, though, I could hear every car passing in the night. Fortunately, the bells from the church opposite don't ring at night.

For around 10 years I've used this as my base for motorcycle trips around the Vosges. Esther and her team always give me a great welcome. The rooms are lovely, and the food is fantastic.
