Camping Odalys La Pinède

The bar had a nice offer, with buy-one-get-one-free cocktails at happy hour at 6 pm, €8.50 per cocktail, and the on-site restaurant served very good burgers in generous portions. The location is handy for exploring the region if you have a car. The stay felt mixed, though, because there was little atmosphere around the pool, no music, and the entertainment was limited. Activities often started late and ended exactly on time, with around 45 minutes of games at most. The curtains did little to block the light, the soundproofing was almost nonexistent, and the beds were too short for me at 1.80 meters, with my feet hanging over the end. The welcome wasn’t warm and the staff weren’t very friendly. On arrival, the manager asked, “Do you have any girls in your group? No? That's a bad start.” The security guards were unpleasant and tense. On Sunday there were no lifeguards during the day. We found out that evening it was the same person doing security at night and supervising the pool during the day. It’s well located and has a good restaurant, but the lack of professionalism and atmosphere is a shame given the potential.

The children loved the pool, entertainment and evening events, and I’m coming back for a second year. The site sits pleasantly on a shaded hill, and management gave us a very warm, kind and accommodating welcome. It’s not luxurious, but the quality for the price is very good.

The location is a plus, with Cap d'Agde, the Pont du Diable and Vias nearby. But I was very disappointed, especially for the price. Our 6/8 person mobile home was too small for 8 people including a newborn. There was no air conditioning, it was full of ants, and the water kept cutting out without warning, which wasn’t ideal with a newborn. The pool was too small and security supervised it, so no ball games, inflatable rings or jumping were allowed. Cleanliness was lacking too. The bar was short-staffed, with just two people serving, so waits were long, and the staff weren’t friendly.

A nice place with really friendly staff. If you have mobility difficulties or are travelling with children, ask for a spot on the lower level. From the top of the campsite, it’s a long walk down to the pool, snack bar or sports field, then all the way back up.
