Hôtel Le Bellevue

The rooms are spacious, and those on the second floor have a good view. There’s also a pleasant roof terrace, with plenty of great restaurants around. For a really good dinner, try La Belle Mere near the harbour, where the terrace looks out over the sea. The hotel itself is spotless, light and bright, with friendly staff. It’s straightforward and set in a peaceful spot overlooking the headland and sea.

It’s a two-star hotel, but the value for the money is great. The place is very clean, and the ocean-view rooms with balconies make for a lovely stay at this level. The beach is close and the village is an easy walk away. It could outdo plenty of three-star hotels.

The hotel is ugly, but its location is excellent. Ask for a sea-view room. It costs more, and I think it’s worth it. Breakfast is basic, though it comes with good humour. Prices felt a bit high in the off season. Cap d'Agde must be awful in peak summer. Even in spring there was heavy traffic and parking was hard to find. I’m adding a few lines because of the owner’s comments. I’m not French, I’m a native English speaker. I left my review in English because I thought it might help bring international guests to the hotel. I liked the place and gave it four stars. When I said it must be “horrid” in summer, I meant Cap d'Agde, not the hotel. And I think it’s a sad sign of the times that people expect every opinion to earn a five-star review.

The beach is just a short walk away, and the rooms were okay. Breakfast was nothing special, and being limited to one croissant seemed odd when it costs extra. The WiFi was barely usable. Fine for one night, but I wouldn’t pay for breakfast again.
