Villa Peacock

We booked three days at The Peacock and ended up staying nine. It's a beautiful tropical setting, with lovely rooms that are modern and well equipped. Sam was warm, helpful, and a master of hospitality, as well as an extraordinary chef. Breakfasts are excellent and varied, and Sam can also make lunch or dinner if you ask. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and if you have a car, the region has incredible towns to explore. The guests are a lovely, varied bunch, many of them multilingual. Sam said he hoped to improve his English by 2020, and if you email in English, an English speaker will respond quickly. I wrote that review four years ago and have stayed at Villa Peacock three times since. It's still one of our favorites: beautiful, fun, and Sam remains the ultimate host, funny, responsible, and a great cook. I still recommend Villa Peacock as one of the best.

The owner really makes the stay, taking time to welcome you, introduce you to other guests, and help with whatever you need. We spent a couple of nights at Villa Peacock and would happily come back. Our room was clean and pleasant, and the pool area was so inviting. The hot tub is enormous, too.

We stayed for a week and had plenty to enjoy nearby, from the area itself to the great beaches. The real draw back at the house was Sam’s cooking, the heated pool, and the well-equipped rooms. It all felt special, with friendly hospitality and none of the attitude. If good food and smart company appeal to you, this is a lovely place to stay.

I wish I could have stayed longer. The room was clean and comfortable, and Sam made us feel at ease throughout our time there. The big pool and jacuzzi sit in a beautiful backyard, and the whole place is so quiet and peaceful. I absolutely loved my days there. It felt like paradise.
