We were staying in a beautiful medieval walled village, but the service was terrible. After midnight, I asked for our room keys so I could use the bathroom before making the eight block round trip to the nearest parking to get the leash the receptionist, Edi, demanded for my service dog. The dog was sitting quietly in an empty room. Edi repeatedly yelled at me while I stood there silently. I've lived in hotel rooms and can't remember ever being treated so rudely. He called me aggressive while he was the one shouting. He also took a while to find our booking and gave me the wrong directions.

Villa Mazarin was elegant, welcoming and in a great location, and the breakfast was outstanding. Reserve a parking spot ahead if you can, since the garage is small. There isn't an elevator, either. You'll be staying in a very old building from the 13th century. A perfect visit to Aigues Mortes.

The breakfast in the garden was a real wow, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was huge and very clean, and the hotel has a classic French feel. It sits within the walled town, close to everything while still being lovely and quiet. The indoor pool was a good size and at just the right temperature. It could use a little care, though: some tiles were chipped and the shower was out of order. Apart from that, a perfect stay.

The rooms were clean, and the pool area with its whirlpool was amazing. The service was very nice and helped us carry our bag to the second level. It's a beautiful Villa in the city center, and absolutely a must if you're in the area and like feeling like a king in a medieval place.

The service beat every other 4-5 star hotel we've stayed in so far. They treated us like royalty, with a warmth and friendliness that made it special. We loved the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam and gym, and breakfast in the beautiful, meticulously kept garden was a highlight. Our King room on the top level had a huge bathroom with separate free-standing sinks, a large walk-in shower and a separate bath. The villa's lovely blend of local and Italian architecture made it feel like paradise on Earth. It was the first time we were so sad to leave a hotel!
