SOWELL Family La Lauziere

We had a brilliant stay, with warm, friendly staff and great service. Eloise especially helped us with everything, from taxis to a broken finger. The hotel is well located, and being able to ski in and out is ideal when there's enough snow. The all-inclusive food was really good, and Christmas Eve came with oysters and champagne. We'd definitely recommend it.

Direct access to the slopes is handy, and the team are genuinely nice and hard-working. The all-inclusive deal makes the stay much easier and more comfortable, since you're seldom paying cash. That also means the employees don't get many tips, so I made a point of leaving a few euros here and there. I think we're all glad to have young people working while we're on holiday. The place is a bit old and expensive, though.

There are plenty of good buffet choices, and the staff are always lovely, ready to help or advise about bus routes. I've stayed here before and am coming back next year. The rooms are lovely, come with towels and hairdryers, and are cleaned every day.

The staff, atmosphere and buffet are what made this a five-star stay for me, and I'd be happy to return for another good ski holiday. Everyone we met was warm and personable, the buffet had enough variety for everyone, and the bar had a great drink selection and board games. With the all-inclusive option, if you choose it, you can count on not needing to spend more on the ski holiday. It was great value for money. There were a few downsides. We visited in the second week of March 2025, and the hotel wasn't ski-in ski-out. We were on the first floor, and getting to the ski lockers and slope, if there had been enough snow, would have meant taking two elevators. The walk down each morning wasn't too bad, but coming back up is steep, especially in ski boots. There's a free shuttle bus, but I didn't use it, so I can't comment on that. In the evenings the atmosphere was good, though the seating could offer more choices for couples. The bed was comfortable and the room basic, but the corridor on the entire first floor smelled almost like sewage. The hotel is a little dated, though still pleasant.
