Le Boutique Hôtel Cézanne

Breakfast was a real highlight during my six nights at Hotel Cezanne. I liked the hot options, pastries, and cheese station where you cut your own. With a nut allergy, I simply skipped the pastries. The eggs were lovely and fluffy, and I had them with cheese and smoked salmon whenever it was available. The WiFi worked well, the room was quiet, the shower got properly hot, and wall USB ports meant I could manage without an adapter, though I’d still bring a universal one. The staff were generally friendly and helpful. The location made it easy to walk into the center. My first-floor room above the lobby was quite small, and it lacked a few things I’m used to at American hotels, including an ironing board, conditioner, mini-fridge, and lotion. I was also charged 5 EUR corkage to open my own wine in the lobby, which made me wonder if I should have just taken it to my room. A charming little place that works well for sleeping, with a great breakfast.

They surprised us in the room for our 30th anniversary, which was a lovely way to begin our Provence trip. The room was on the small side, but quiet and designed with character. It’s reasonably priced and about a five-minute walk from the main shopping area, near the town center.

Marius really went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable in our lovely room at Boutique Hotel Cézanne. The hotel is handily placed, roughly a 5-10 minute walk from Aix’s old town. We’d recommend the Privilege room if stairs are okay for you. It’s at the very top of the building, with lots of space and a modern feel. You can set it to air conditioning or heat whatever the season, which is unusual in France.

The staff were so kind and helpful, and we felt looked after during our anniversary stay at Hotel Cezanne. It’s a beautiful, very clean hotel with comfortable rooms. We also loved being close to the town center while still away from the noise and bustle. I’d happily recommend it to anyone coming to Aix.
