Hotel Le Concorde

The internet kept dropping out, so using it was a gamble. Cleaning was worse: the floor was dirty when I arrived, there was hair on the sheets, and the bathroom was covered in limescale. When I asked the cleaner in French to just wipe the floor, he brushed me off and acted as if he didn't understand. He changed the towels, walking around the bathroom in dirty shoes, but I ended up wetting a towel and washing the floor myself. It came up black. We had a superior room that matched the photos, and the location was nicely placed, neither too central nor too far away. Given the amenities, even three stars seems generous.

A warm welcome, and a nice place. Just be aware that the lift only reaches the third floor, so anyone staying on the fourth has to carry things up one flight. It also doesn't run between midnight and 7 a.m. The garage is off limits during those same hours, so you can't get to your car then.

We had a quiet, peaceful stay in a comfortable bed, and the bathroom was spacious even though our room faced the street. The hotel is central, with an easy walk to Cours Mirabeau, shops, restaurants and the train station. There was a small issue at check-in: the room had an odd smell, which staff said came from a plumbing problem earlier that day. We told the receptionist, who sorted it quickly and upgraded us to a suite. The service was outstanding. We'd happily stay again.

The service was very poor. The staff member serving breakfast was unfriendly and never even said good morning, and breakfast was expensive. The employees weren't friendly and never smiled, and there was no light in the parking area. We rented one room but were given another. When we raised the issue, they said they'd ask the administration. It didn't feel honest.
