La Soleillade Aixoise

The family-owned place has a lovely, restful feel, with plenty of space to walk around nearby. It’s set among Provence’s vineyards and lavender fields, and Aix-en-Provence is only 10 minutes away. Rooms are spacious, furnished to a very high standard, and full of thoughtful details. The pool is nice and large, and the hostess is super friendly and helpful. Don’t miss breakfast with fresh juice, fruit, and croissants. The hotel opened this year, so it may be worth booking before this Provence gem gets better known. Recommended.

Set in the countryside, this brand new building is only a ten-minute drive from Aix city center. The rooms are large and comfortable, with all the amenities, and there’s a 20 meter lap pool. Breakfast was superb, and the hostess was great.

We had a wonderful four-night stay. The place is rural but central Aix is no more than 15 minutes away, and it was easy to come and go. There’s lots of hiking and lovely vineyards nearby. Helen was attentive without being nosy, and the two lovely dogs were up for fetch and belly rubs. Breakfast was worth the extra charge, though I understand it’s free if you book directly by phone. The garden is welcoming, the bedrooms are soundproofed so we never heard other guests, the pool was crystal clear, and the rooms were kept immaculate. One of the dogs jumped into my lap shortly after this picture was taken.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with excellent beds, and breakfast was fresh, plentiful, and high quality. La Soleillade is a beautiful place in Provence, and the house is even more elegant and comfortable than the photos suggest. Hélène welcomed us so warmly and was thoughtful and kind, we felt right at home. What a lovely weekend away. We highly recommend it and hope to return. See you soon, Caroline and Sylvia.
