Les suites du lac

The photos are true to life, and we had an amazing stay. We arrived a few hours early, but the hosts were super nice and fitted us in simply and efficiently. Everything was clean, the pool was amazing, and the view was fantastic. Breakfast had plenty of choices, and there were lots of cocktails to cool off with by the pool. There are nice walks down to the lake, through gardens and on to the harbor and plenty of restaurants. You can even dip your feet in the lake. We’ll definitely come back. Thanks again for being so kind!

The room let us down. There were two couples, but we were given a room for one, with a sofa bed as the second bed. It was so uncomfortable that sleeping on it was impossible. The room was too small for four, and once the sofa was open there was no space left. Definitely not worth the price. The pool showers were out of order, so people were getting in without showering first. There were also two goats and some chickens kept behind the hotel in a very small, unsuitable spot. Maybe it was okay for the chickens, but definitely not for the poor goats. The hotel itself was clean and in a great location with an awesome view. The staff were kind and friendly, and breakfast was good.

Not worth it!!! The room is really cold. When other people in the hotel use the bath at the same time, the jacuzzi water turns cold. And if you finally manage to take a hot jacuzzi bath, condensation leaves the whole room wet.

I paid good money to stay here, and my review was meant to be constructive, not offensive. But after I left an honest 3-star review on Tripadvisor about the dogs pooing and weeing around the pool, the owner responded with hostility and called me the “smiling assasin.” That was insulting and unacceptable. Their response made it seem like they wanted to hide from the truth and throw a tantrum over criticism. The dog mess had apparently been raised in earlier reviews too, so dismissing it as no serious issue when health is involved suggests they don’t care and will let it continue. Please sort out the hygiene so unsuspecting guests don’t walk in dog feaces. It’s a shame this happened, and I hope no one else has the same experience. A few other facts from my stay: my room had only a small mirror in the bathroom, and there was no food menu. They said their taxi was cheaper, but nobody answered when I called. I tried again for their 10 euro taxi, but they got me a local taxi for 20 euros instead. He was very good, but if they offer a service for 10 euros, they should provide it. Drinks are expensive, and in my opinion the hotel caters more to its young non-resident clientele. When music was left on in the bar until very late, I couldn’t find anyone to turn it off. Only the dogs came to greet me.
