Urban Hotel Aix-les-Bains, BW Signature Collection

The breakfast was a real highlight, with more variety and better quality than I expected for the price. Tatiana and the rest of the staff were genuinely welcoming and went out of their way to help. The rooms are small but spotless and practical. The spa was fine, though the pool seemed to have a lot of chlorine. The secure garage on site and the great location made a short stay easy. It’s perfect for a couple of nights, but would feel tight for a big family.

We enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room, and everything was perfect. My room was spotless, nicely decorated, and very comfortable, and breakfast was fabulous, with plenty of tasty options. A proper four-star experience. I highly recommend the hotel and will definitely return.

It was perfectly fine, just not cheap. The garage clearance is 2.0 metres, and parking costs 12 per night. Dogs are charged EUR 15 per night per dog. That’s standard in FR, but as an extra cleaning fee per stay would make more sense, I think this charge is totally unjustified.

We had a great, relaxing stay, and for the price this is a very good hotel spa. The bed was comfortable, breakfast was nice, and the fitness room was reasonable. There are plenty of seats in the spa, which has a large pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. The sauna and steam room work well once you know the controls, though the lights weren’t self-explanatory to us: red ON means the sauna is on, and green OFF means the steam room is on. I found there was too much chlorine in the pool and jacuzzi. The “aqua-detante” area isn’t well insulated, so it gets noisy easily when people speak loudly. I also think the spa needs a cold plunge and a lower room temperature, so you can cool down after time in the hot areas.
