Hôtel Fesch & Spa

We stopped here briefly between two boats, and it worked out great. We could get to the rooftop and pool early, which was a treat on such a hot day. The pool felt especially refreshing, and the rooftop view is great. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the AC worked well.

The rooftop pool is nice, but it’s very small, with only about five loungers and room for a few people to swim. It looks much bigger in the photos. You have to walk through the bar and restaurant in a wet swimsuit to get back to the elevator. The spa costs 35 euros per person and isn’t included. There’s no parking, and it can be hard to find a paid street space nearby. The room would work for a night, but I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend. The photos seem to show only the top two floors, which look recently renovated. On the other floors, things are old, dingy and musty, nothing like the pictures. Our AC didn’t work, so the room was warm. The bathroom had one tiny fluorescent light and felt dark and creepy. There was a tub with a handheld wand, but no shower.

The rooftop breakfast was a highlight. The view over Ajaccio, the sea and the mountains is stunning, the food was great, and we had sunshine every morning. I spent three nights at the hotel and had a lovely time. It’s on Rue Fesch, close to just about everything in town, so we went shopping and sightseeing without needing an Uber. We tried the spa and found it wonderfully relaxing, exactly what I needed. We also ate at the restaurant. I had the duck, and it was perfect. The chef is a genius! Great value for money, and we’ll definitely come back.

The hotel is beautiful, and the food was very good. I had a fabulous breakfast on the rooftop looking out at the sea, and the spa was amazing, with the option to book it privately. I had an incredible stay, and the value for money was excellent.
