We only stayed a night, and the room was just like the photos: modern, pretty, clean, and equipped with what we needed. The location was good, and communication was clear. It felt secure, too. The downside was the noise from the restaurants in the evening and the poor soundproofing.

The room was awful, and I wish we'd taken the earlier Booking.com reviews seriously. There was no city view, just two green shutters blocked by trees that couldn't be opened. At night the restaurant below stayed lit, and the shutters didn't close properly, so that light came into the room. Street and restaurant noise, plus noise from the neighbors, came through easily. The Wi-Fi was slow, the bed was small and hard, and the minibar didn't keep things cool. There was no kitchenette or dining space, and very little kitchenware, with no toaster. The windows were filthy, and the shower was dirty and smelled like sewage. There wasn't even a carbon monoxide detector. The host said the mold on the walls and ceiling came from a leak. But we'd seen the same problem in reviews from more than a year earlier, so it seemed to have been known for a while. She also said prices were low because of the mold and water issues. We booked well in advance, and nobody told us about it. If we'd known, we would have canceled and found somewhere else, since mold can be a health hazard and may cause breathing problems or respiratory infections. There was trouble with check-in, too. Booking.com listed 2:00 PM, but the host changed that to 3:00 PM without asking us, which was really inconvenient while traveling. When I sent screenshots showing what Booking.com said was included, she claimed we hadn't read the instructions and that the apartment matched the listing. She then complained about how many messages I was sending, even though I was trying to show the problems with photos. After ignoring us for a while, she brushed off the issues and told us to find somewhere else in Ajaccio. It was already dark, and we weren't going to pay twice as much or search for a new place then. We had paid €95 a night, and she kept dodging my question about compensation while repeating that we could book elsewhere. Her replies were rude and unpleasant. Booking.com told me to work it out with the host, while the host said I had to take it up with Booking.com. This wasn't even worth 1 out of 10.

I had a great stay and would happily come back. The studio was charming, practical, and decorated with care. It's in a great spot, in a small family-run building that felt secure. The welcome and service were spot on. Thanks so much.

For a night before setting off on the GR 20, we had a nice little room with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The owners' reaction afterward really soured things. A friend came by at 9 am to meet the group, and we all left at 10. Two days later, the owner messaged us and Booking.com claiming we'd had someone stay overnight without permission. She even warned other accommodations to watch out for us. Lovely thing to hear while we're hiking. The owners seemed paranoid, and I would've given zero stars.
