Base Camp Lodge worked out perfectly for me. It was the closest and most affordable hotel I could find near Les 3 Vallées. I arrived at 16:00 and my room was ready; I also booked dinner and breakfast. The room was modern and really clean, and I could open the window for some fresh air. Dinner was good and reasonably priced, and breakfast was great for the cost. They let me check out late without an extra charge, which made the stay. I’d definitely recommend it.

The food was the best part for me: the burgers, pizzas, and salads were superb, really, really good. The room was great too, and the staff were absolutely charming. I spent three nights here over Christmas after being discharged from hospital following a skiing accident. The situation wasn’t ideal, but this was a lovely place to recover before heading home. Thanks for taking such good care of me when I was feeling sorry for myself. Highly recommend it for a stay in Albertville or for lunch or dinner. First class!

The lodge itself is nice, but my dorm stay was rough. I shared with two people who said they lived there, presumably seasonal staff who couldn’t find somewhere else in Albertville. That felt a bit strange. One came back from work at 01.00 and started cooking and watching TV; the other got up at 6 for morning prayer beside my bed. I hardly slept. The rooms are clean, but too cramped, especially with the kitchen and TV in there too. Whether it works for you probably depends on who else is in the room.

The menu isn’t very varied, but the food is really good. Rooms are comfortable, and there’s a warm indoor pool and sauna. Staff are friendly and helpful, and it’s a handy base for seeing the nearby attractions.

Everyone I met, from reception to the bar and restaurant teams, went out of their way to look after me. The service felt personal, and the staff were amazing. The property is new, and the pool facilities were excellent and clean. I had a great stay and will be back many more times. Definitely recommend.
