Albirondack Park Camping Lodge and Spa

It was very quiet, and we had two nights here in our motorhome. The facilities were very clean, and the pool area was a real bonus, with a jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna. Staff were always around, polite, and keen to help. Check-in at 4pm felt late, but the noon checkout left plenty of time for a swim. We cycled into town, though walking or taking the bus are options too. Albi Cathedral is a must-see.

The new owners had only taken over the campsite two weeks earlier and were working hard to get it running to their liking. They've owned another site before and hope to bring this one up to the same high standards. The pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and toilets were spotless. Best wishes to Lucca, his mum and dad, and the rest of the team for the future.

The campsite seems mostly geared toward log cabins, and it has a lovely pool and restaurant. Our pitch was fine, though not especially big, and a larger tent would've been a struggle. The loos and showers were clean, the washing and drying facilities were good, and having a TV room was a nice bonus.

We arrived late afternoon in our campervan and got a lovely welcome from the owners. They gave us really helpful information, including detailed directions for cycling into the city. We saw three of the site's four gorgeous “real owners”: a longhaired smokey tabby, a fluffy longhaired black cat, and a regal black and white shorthair. Number 4 was AWOL when we arrived. We had our own accommodation, so can't comment on that, though the cabins looked magnificent. The toilet block was clean, bright, and had loo paper in the cubicle. The campsite-wide free wifi worked well, which was very welcome after the lacklustre French mobile internet that's reserved for foreigners.
