Hôtel Le Rochegude

The manager was really kind and attentive, and the rooms were clean and simple, with a spacious bathroom that was nice to use. Breakfast costs 7.5€ and includes jam, bread, croissants, juice, yogurt and coffee. They don't clean the room between nights, which was the downside. It's a nice, straightforward place to stay.

We only came in for lunch, but it was a great find: good food, pleasant service and reasonable prices.

The room itself was in a terrible state: broken parquet flooring, peeling wallpaper, visible mold, stained curtains and towels, and only cold water in the shower. The cleaning hadn't been done properly, and the beds weren't even made. We were also disappointed by the lack of any welcome. There was no reception or staff member to hand over a key; the room was simply left unlocked, which felt shocking and raised a serious security concern. Booking a hotel comes with an expectation of at least some human contact and service, but there was none. We paid both the hotel rate and tourist tax, yet got no service, comfort or attention to detail. The place calls itself a hotel but falls far below the standard. For what we paid, it was a real disappointment, and I strongly advise anyone wanting a pleasant stay in Albi to avoid it.

The staff were attentive and greeted me warmly when I arrived. I stayed for two nights and was very happy with the experience. My room was quiet, comfortable and clean, a good place to rest. Breakfast was varied and nicely presented. I'd recommend it for an easy, pleasant stay.
