Maison Aleteia*** Decouverte Et Serenite

I love Alet-les-Bains, and staying at maison aleteia was wonderful. Richard was an amazing host, and I’m so glad I got to stay here. The croissants were beyond imagination too. Thanks, Richard!

We had a wonderful stay in a place full of history and positive energy. Richard was attentive to everything we needed. The dinner lecture is especially worth recommending: the meal was delicious and carefully prepared, and the talk taught us more about the region’s history and heritage. Breakfast featured high-quality local products as well. We’ll be back!

We booked this place based on other guests’ reviews and came away hugely disappointed. Richard greeted us kindly, showed us to our room, and explained how the accommodation worked. He also told us the rooms had no keys, which surprised us. When we asked where to get dinner, he suggested a few places since meals aren’t offered at the accommodation. Back in the room, we found no toilet paper, soap, or other personal hygiene products, and the wastebaskets were overflowing. Then, when we flushed the toilet, dirty, foul-smelling water poured out from behind it and spread across the bathroom. We tried several ways to reach Richard and ask for another room or some other solution, but couldn’t get hold of him. At 10:30 p.m., we had to leave because of the smell and the unusable toilet. The rooms are in poor condition from lack of maintenance, and there should be someone available to contact when problems come up. The price is very high for the state of the rooms and the services provided. I don’t understand the positive reviews.

We found this place by chance, and the experience was a lovely surprise. The charming accommodation is part of the town’s historical heritage, and Richard welcomed us into his home with great warmth. He served a delicious old-fashioned dinner with excellent wine, sharing his deep historical knowledge as he brought out and explained each dish. I was also going through a difficult time with my health, and he kindly took care of what I needed. It’s a place for peace, quiet, and respect, and the stay is unforgettable. Highly recommended.
