Huatian Chinagora Hotel

It was quiet and cozy, with plenty of space and a fair price. The hotel was super clean and the service was brilliant, and breakfast was quite good. They brought fresh water bottles and slippers each day. I also got an iron quickly and easily without paying extra. I'd definitely come back. Thanks for the great service!

The view from our room was the one good thing. The rest left us feeling uncomfortable, and if you care about cleanliness, don't stay here. It was easily the dirtiest hotel we stayed in. The room smelled of mildew as soon as we came in, from a shower curtain with fungus all over its lower half. There was fungus in the shower corners and on the shower head, and hair on the supposedly fresh bed. The AC didn't work, and no one ever came to fix it. When we asked for extra water bottles, we were told only the first day's supply was free and we'd have to pay after that.

The room was dirty, with carpet stains, coffee grounds left in the cup, and mold on the shower liner. Staff were very friendly and helpful, though, and the metro was easy to reach. It's a nice local neighborhood, with a wonderful bakery just down the street.

I stayed seven nights in June, at six months pregnant, and it was 28 to 31c most days. The air conditioner and fridge barely worked, which was hard to deal with at 31C. Our whole floor smelled of cigarette smoke, and the bed, linens, and room were extremely dirty and poorly cleaned. The shower was the only thing worth staying for. Hot drink supplies usually weren't replenished, so I kept having to ask for tea or coffee in the room. On our second night, we were told water bottles had to be paid for after the first day, and they charged us 3 euros for 1 litre. We later bought six 1.5 Litre Evian bottles from the supermarket a few doors away for 4euros. That seemed to be one receptionist's rule, since after we bought our own water, bottles in the room were refilled every day. The old TV wouldn't connect to WiFi for Netflix or Prime, and its remote was in Chinese. Of the 40 channels, only one was in English. The hotel seems to cater only to Chinese tourists. This was an extremely bad stay. Do not choose it. It's rubbish and not a 4 star hotel, so don't be fooled by the reviews.
