Chateau des Touches

The outside of the castle is calm and pleasant, but that couldn't make up for a dreadful night. Our attic room was sweltering in the summer heat, and the little fan they left there was so noisy we couldn't sleep. The shower was poor too: the tray was clogged and took several noisy minutes to drain. Things had already gone badly before we arrived. We called to ask about checking in later than the stated 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. window because the website said Puy du Fou was an hour away, while it actually took twice as long to get there. The owner hung up after saying the website wasn't her responsibility and that 7 p.m. was the limit anyway. When we got there, the welcome was cold, there were no protective measures, and she made a derogatory comment, “You're sheep,” because we were wearing masks and wanted to keep them on. We came with a Smartbox. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
