The Sunday market and the parking by the quay below the bridge were both an easy walk away. We also had several good places to eat within 5 minutes, in a popular area near the base of the chateau. Inside, the apartment was clean, comfortable, simple, and well equipped. The owner welcomed us, opened the door when we arrived, and communicated in French and English. She and her husband clearly look after the place. I’d happily live in this gite if I could, and highly recommend it.

We found the apartment clean, spacious for two adults and two children, and nicely decorated. It had a dishwasher and washing machine, plus a crib and high chair. Bath towels were available for an additional fee. The owners were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The place is in central Amboise, with a mini-market, restaurants, bakery, and free parking all within a 5-minute walk. The Royal Château is 5 minutes away and Clos Lucé is 10 minutes away. We had a perfect stay.
