Le Balcon de Leonard

We spent a whole month working remotely from Valérie's gite, and it felt like the perfect home away from home. The Internet was good enough for both my husband and me to make video calls. The house sits between the Château and Clos Lucé, with an exceptional view of both from the terrace. The town center, grocery stores and farmer's market are all within walking distance. We cooked most of our meals in the very well equipped kitchen. It was peaceful at night, with few to no cars passing. We were there during a mini heat-wave, but the thick stone walls kept the house insulated from the heat, so we didn't need air conditioning. Valérie was a wonderful hostess throughout our extended stay. She kept in touch, promptly sent someone when we noticed a minor plumbing issue, and offered several times to bring us more bed-linens. She did what she could to make our stay enjoyable. The stairs at the front of the house and down to the living room and kitchen are very steep, so this may not suit a family with young children or anyone with limited mobility. We'd definitely recommend the gite for discovering the region or for a mid-term remote-work stay. Thank you, Valérie! :)
