Logis Hôtel Chaptal Amboise

We stayed one night in the three person suite. It was really small, but adequate, and dogs are welcome, which was a big plus for us. The location is handy for the main streets, restaurants and stores, yet far enough away that noise wasn't a problem. Breakfast had enough choice for different tastes, and staff refilled things as they ran low. The staff were very attentive, and the private parking was a good price. It has limited spaces, so book ahead. We recommend it.

During our off season trip through Amboise, this place was cute, clean and had everything we needed. It was convenient for all the places we wanted to visit. I like supporting small business owners, and the owner was very nice when we met her at the front desk.

We came back and stayed here again on our way home, which says a lot. It's a three star hotel, but it punches well above its weight and is the best value hotel you'll find anywhere. The location is right in the centre, and the accommodation was spotlessly clean. We had a fantastic shower, freshly laundered towels and such a comfortable bed that we photographed the mattress name. Staff were cheerful and exceptionally attentive. The air con in our room was the quietest ever, with no outside noise at all. They have secure parking, but book it well in advance, since finding overnight parking in Amboise can be difficult.

We were biking and really appreciated the excellent bike storage. The staff and owner were attentive and clearly wanted us to have a great visit. The hotel is in a fabulous spot close to everything, just off the main pedestrian precinct. Rooms are cozy and basic but had what we needed, including comfortable beds, AC, TVs and coffee and tea. Our bathroom had an awesome shower. Highly recommend!
