Mary was fantastic when we arrived. We called to ask about parking and she came out to help us parallel park in front of the property. She showed us the room and kitchen, then patiently explained how to use the coffee maker. We didn't cook there, but it was nice having a kitchen. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, with lovely newly renovated bathrooms. It's a very short, pleasant walk to the center of Amboise, and the price is reasonable. Mary is helpful, generous and kind, and her English is very good. I wish we'd stayed longer. This is one of my favorite hotels in France, and I'd highly recommend it.

We'd happily stay again and recommend this chambre d'hotes to friends. It's a peaceful spot, just a short stroll across the river to Amboise, and the owner gave us a warm welcome. Our room was bright, clean and comfortable, with tasteful decor and good bedding and towels. The memory foam mattress isn't my personal preference, but that's just me. One small fix would be a privacy blind or curtain on the bathroom window: the voile curtain becomes see-through with the light on.

The rooms are decorated beautifully and suit the castle era of the region. Our host was friendly and full of useful information. It's only a few minutes' walk to the main town, so the location is very central. If you're driving, try to arrive early to find street parking.
