Charmant Mobile home - camping les goëlands

The location is great, with a beautiful beach right outside, and we found the washrooms okay. You can order baguettes and other baked goods at the small bar the evening before. Our pitch was disappointing, though. It was dark, messy, and dirty when we arrived, with old camping gear left there. The trees kept the sun off it, so it stayed damp for a long time. We couldn't move to another pitch, even though some better ones were available. What a shame. We made the best of it by finding sunny places on the beach.

By the end of my 12-week hike, I'd seen plenty of campsites, paid a range of prices, and had very different levels of service. This one now ranks last for me, and despite what the website says, it was among the three most expensive. I wouldn't recommend it to hikers or cyclists. I arrived at the end of my hike on the GR 34 trail. Since I'd booked ahead and was apparently the only, or last, hiker to arrive that day, I was greeted by name. That's the only positive I can report as a hiker. The advertised special hiker rate online was €13, but I was charged €21.50, with no services for hikers at all. The price for what you get is completely unacceptable. There's not even a picnic table, just a bench, so I had to eat sitting on the ground. When I asked where hikers could stay, I was asked, "Didn't I have a tent with me?" At many other campsites, I paid less than half as much. Some had a shared tent for hikers, and some even offered a room with a kettle, microwave, fridge, tables, chairs, dishes, and cutlery.

The pitches are spacious and clearly laid out, and the campsite has direct access to the sea. The facilities are clean. The only downside for us was that dogs aren't allowed on the beach. I'd recommend it.

The family atmosphere was a real plus, and we liked how peaceful it felt among the other campers. We spent two nights on a lovely pitch with a sea view. The bathroom facilities could use an update. Thanks so much, we hope to come back.
