Hotel Castel d'Orcino

The sea view and swimming pool were the best parts of my stay at Hôtel Castel d’Orcino. The view was stunning, and the pool area was lovely. At €172 a night for a sea-view room, though, I expected more care. My room was dark, with just a small window or door letting in natural light. The interior looked dated and poorly maintained, and the common areas, including the breakfast setup, felt basic and uninviting. It could be a special place with some refurbishment and attention. As it is, the location and pool are appealing, but the rooms and atmosphere disappointed me for the price.

There were lots of dead and live mosquitoes on the room walls, as you can see in the pictures. I would rate the place five stars, but I’m taking one off because bird mess made the pool area very dirty, and it hadn’t been cleaned at all. I hope they reconsider cleaning it. If they do, I’ll come back. Thank you.

You really need a car, since there isn’t much around. I’d say two or three days is the right length of stay. The pool facilities and lounge area deserve more than three stars, and it’s a very relaxing spot to unwind. Breakfast was royal, while the restaurant was just okay, nothing special. Thanks to the very kind receptionist. It’s a great place, and I’d recommend it to anyone!

The pool facing the sea is beautiful. The shore is rocky, so swimming isn’t great, but it’s a nice place to snorkel. Breakfast was good, though pricey. We also had a shower problem when we checked in; it was fixed the next day. There was no Wi-Fi in our room during our entire four-night stay, which was annoying. The rest of the staff were polite, but the managers weren’t, and the general manager was downright disrespectful. For a short break focused on the pool, I’d recommend staying here. If you want a great experience all around, I’d look elsewhere.
