Villa Rhôna

A flat caravan tire on the highway on July 14th left us stuck until the following day, and we found this hotel by luck while searching for somewhere to stay. The reviews and photos caught our interest, and one phone call confirmed they had a room. It’s in an old French town by the Rhône, down a narrow street. We parked by the property, rang the intercom at the tall wall and steel gate, and were let in to see a stunning French villa. The hostess greeted us with a warm, open-armed welcome. Everywhere inside, there’s history and attention to detail. You can tell a lot of effort and love went into it. The kitchen, breakfast room, and TV room are downstairs, with guest rooms on two upper floors reached by old wooden stairs. We stayed in the "misfortunes Sophie" room. It had a good bed, a great shower, and the basic things we needed. The garden was beautiful, with views over the Rhône, the village, and the valley. There’s a nice pool, chickens wandering with their chicks and rooster, cats, and even a little turtle. There are plenty of spots to sit in sun or shade. We had a lovely French breakfast in the garden and went for a swim in the afternoon. The hostess was always ready for a chat and checked if she could help with anything. We felt honored to stay here, surrounded by all the beautiful details and her thoughtful service. Thank you!

A cold beer and a swim in the pool were just what I needed after arriving tired and hot from a long bike ride. We were welcomed into a delightful, interesting house, and the room was perfect. Breakfast the next morning was even better, just wonderful. There’s also a well-equipped area for bike maintenance. Thanks for such a warm welcome.

I only stayed one night at Brigitte's wonderful place and really wish I could've stayed longer. The historic house has loads of character, and Brigitte makes it feel peaceful and welcoming as soon as you arrive. The pool, cats, chickens, and the little noises the building made overnight all came together into an unforgettable stay. I hope to come back soon!
