ibis Styles Angers Centre Gare

The hotel is handy for both the city and the station, but we won't be staying again. It was very noisy at night, with deliveries and reversing beeps. We've stayed at many Ibis hotels over the years and been Accor members even longer, but this one disappointed us. For the first time, we were refused a drink each at the bar and told it was one card, one drink. The service was really poor, and the staff didn't seem particularly pleasant. They were struggling to be nice.

The hotel is comfortable, with a good range of breakfast choices. The city centre is within a walk of about 10 minutes. There weren't many power sockets.

The buffet breakfast was just about okay, but the value for money was wrong. The room felt dated and dull, and the bathroom smelled. You could see and hear the sewer pipe from the room above in there too. I've stayed at a few Ibis Styles hotels around Europe, and this one didn't feel like one at all.

The room was small and old-fashioned, and so dark that it was hard to judge how clean it was. The entrance was covered in rubbish, while reception was being renovated, something that hadn't been mentioned when I booked. I've never had such a disappointing stay at an Ibis Styles. It was not worth the money.
